Having carried out maintenance of the Main low voltage switchgear for a number of years, in 2007 Wiremek were involved in the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of replacement Main low voltage panels.

As a Grade 1 listed building the switchgear had to fit the space created by the removal of existing and be visually the same.  This involved creating custom sized panels which were then powder coated to match the original colours as chosen by Norman Foster, the original architect.

The replacement and modernisation extends to the four riser cores with a panel on each floor, boiler room plant control panel, the mechanical services panel, the chiller control panel and the essential services panel.

These were all installed and commissioned on weekend or overnight shutdowns for minimum disruption.

This is an ongoing project with which Wiremek work closely with Willis group so that we achieve exactly what the client requires within budget and with minimal impact on the office day to day activities.
